On the 26 th of October 2017, Ferrexpo Yeristovo Mining (‘FYM’) was delighted to welcome Mr. Volodymyr Groysman, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, to its operations. Mr Groysman was shown around FYM’s world class facilities including the FYM mine and its repairs workshop where he spent some time admiring the mining fleet.
The Head of the Cabinet of Ministers also met with employees of Ferrexpo’s mining entities and was given a presentation by the top management of Ferrexpo, according to which approximately 80% of FYM’s employees receive a salary above the average for the industry. The presentation also covered the Group’s achievements and its future growth prospects.
During his visit, the Prime Minister emphasized that the success of Ferrexpo is a good example of an effective business model which makes an important contribution to the well-being of the people of Ukraine.
Concluding his visit, the Prime Minister summarized “Today I visited Ferrexpo Yeristovo Mining – a young yet very powerful iron ore mining company. This mine is unique – it is a greenfield project comprising resources for several decades of operations, advanced mining technologies, a large facility for repairs of heavy equipment and more than 1 200 employees.
With total direct investment made of over US$ 700 million, Ferrexpo intends to expand its capacities which will result in new jobs, salaries and taxes for government budgets of all levels, contributing to the development of the Poltava region and Ukraine as whole.”
